Where is your client, really?
In this training, you will know where your client is in the arc of therapy and you will know what to do next, with confidence instead of losing the client somewhere along the way.
Most clinicians leave school or previous trainings with a modality and no map. That gap shows up in every client who stalls, every session that feels off-track, and every treatment plan that doesn't reflect what's actually happening in the room.
This cohort fixes that.
And yes, you will finally get a direct answer to the question every clinician quietly asks: How does this apply to how I actually work?
“I wish I had gotten this in grad school 14 years ago.”
What you’ll walk away with
Clarity when different life domains are in different phases
See where each part of a client's life sits in the arc of treatment, even when those domains need different things at the same time. You'll know whether to stabilize, process, or wait — and why.
A phase-oriented framework that fits any modality
Rooted in Judith Herman's seminal work — portable to EMDR, IFS, CBT, parts work, and whatever else you already practice. The map your modality was always meant to live on.
A goal-construction model that produces treatment plans matching the room
Not SMART goals — a values-based, autonomy-supportive structure that holds up to supervisors, payers, and your own clinical judgment. Includes an editable Phase-Oriented Treatment Plan Template you'll have used by Session 5.
Confidence explaining your treatment direction
Name why you are stabilizing, processing, slowing down, or shifting focus in language that makes sense to supervisors, insurance auditors, clients, and you.
A direct answer to how this applies to your actual work
The cohort keeps returning to your own caseload so the framework does not stay theoretical. You will practice applying the map to the clients already on your mind.
“I realized taking this training that EVERYONE has the same anxieties as me... and there is always room to learn and sharpen my skills.”
“One of the best CEUs I've taken in a long time.”
“Kitty is a gifted presenter who packed a ton of information into a relatively short training without it feeling overwhelming... I felt she was just talking to me in her office.”

Kitty Ferguson-Mappus, MSSW, LCSW-S
Kitty Ferguson-Mappus, MSSW, LCSW-S is an EMDR Certified Therapist, IFS Level 1 Practitioner, and Executive Director of Unbroken Abundance Counseling in Georgetown, Texas. She holds appointments as Practicum Instructor at both UT Austin and UT Arlington, serves on UT Austin's Community Partnership Development Committee, and has delivered graduate-level guest lectures on trauma-informed practice and clinical ethics. She has supervised and mentored early-career clinicians since 2022 and has delivered CEU programming on documentation, supervision, and emerging clinical topics since 2024. This cohort draws directly from the framework she developed while supervising clinicians navigating the gap between modality training and the full arc of trauma treatment.
Common questions
Do I need to attend live?
Live attendance is the format — case consultation depends on you being in the room. Recordings are included if you have to miss a session, but please don't register if you know you'll miss multiple weeks. Wait for the next cohort.
Is this for me? Associates, supervisors, experienced clinicians?
All three — the cohort is built for clinicians at any stage. Associates get a framework before they need it. Experienced clinicians get language for what they've been doing intuitively. Supervisors get a transmittable model they can teach. Supervisors are also welcome to attend alongside their associates — the live case consultation works for both directions.
I'm a supervisor. What will I actually get out of this?
A framework you can carry directly into supervision. Most supervisors can feel where their supervisee's client is in treatment but can't always articulate why — because the framework lives in them, not on paper yet. This cohort gives you the structure, the vocabulary, and the goal-construction model in a form you can transmit. Bring your hardest supervision cases to the live consultation; we work them together.
I already use [modality]. Will this conflict?
No. The framework is modality-agnostic. EMDR, IFS, SE, CBT, parts work — all of them have a phase fit. The cohort teaches you when to deploy what you already know.
Will this cover insurance audits?
The goal-construction model is designed to produce treatment plans that hold up to payer review — but this is a clinical framework training, not a billing training. We'll touch on how the framework translates to defensible documentation, not how to navigate specific audits.
Is this a legal training?
No. This is clinical documentation and treatment planning. We name the framework, give you the tools, and trust you to apply them in your specific clinic and licensure context.
What if I miss a session?
You'll receive the recording within 48 hours. If you miss two or more sessions live, the case-consultation value drops significantly — please consider waiting for the next cohort.
Do I get the treatment plan template?
Yes. The editable Phase-Oriented Treatment Plan Template is included with registration, and it's yours to use in your practice.
Five Wednesdays. 7.5 CEUs. One framework you’ll keep.
Cohort starts July 1, 2026. The $210 founding rate ends June 22. Registration closes June 29 or when seats fill.
